No matter where you go in life, you will only take away that which you are open to receiving! At the 2012 Long Island Litererary Expo at StonyBrook University December 15th, I arrived with a minivan full of books. What I left with was a truckload of inspired motivation!

I expected just another book signing and that I would probably meet some interesting new people. Boy, interesting is just a pale understatement! I'm going to name some names, so if you know them feel free to give a shout out; if not please take a moment to check them out ...you won't be sorry!

Elijah M.Brown (Motivational Speaker) "manUP the play"

Elijah is also an Author/Actor/Educator and has his own publishing company. This man was exciting, engaging, and has a strong desire to uplift others! Anyone who might be looking for the right person to come into a school and help influence kids to strive to better themselves, this is a man you want to meet! www.manuptheplay.com

Jacqueline Cauthen (Life Skills/Business/Success Coach)

Jacqueline Aka "Nana Jackie" is a wonderful, warm poet who has created a lovely children's book entitled "Nana Jackie Presents Sage Garden Poetry". She also has a DVD to accompany the book along with other interesting works. www.mylifevantage.com/sagegarden

Lawanna Lynn Campbell (Author/Speaker) "Is She Dead Yet?"

Lawanna ,in my humble opinion, was hands down the most commanding presence in the room! Not only was she bright, quick witted and charming, she was the embodiment of triumph! A woman who has pulled herself from the ashes of life experience and emerged the fiery phoenix! I was so taken with her living example of strength and kindness that I was too choked up to even blog about the experience until today! www.isshedeadyet.com

There were many other fascinating people there worthy of mention: Alexia Fraser "Memories of Mom", Hope Olinsky "Release for the Captives" and Akira Mone`Bennet "Shameless Verses" just to name a few. I'd like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to one and all for reaching out to me, embracing me as a friend so that I would feel more comfortable braving this new world of being a published author!
